Dr. Sheila Singh on a special panel for CBC Radio’s White Coat, Black Art
The Director of CDCR, Dr. Sheila Singh, was invited to participate in a special panel for a live taping of CBC Radio’s White Coat, Black Art. The show, hosted by Dr. Brian Goldman and recorded at the Hamilton Public Library’s central branch, invited panelists to share book recommendations that had a positive influence on their mental or physical health.
Dr. Singh was part of a panel with Dr. Jane Philpott, the dean of health sciences at Queen’s University and a former federal health minister, as well as Amie Archibald-Varley and Sara Fung, who are co-authors of The Wisdom of Nurses: Stories of Grit from the Front Lines. They also co-host The Gritty Nurse podcast.
Dr. Singh chose two titles by Harvard surgeon Dr. Atul Gawande: “Better: A Surgeon’s Notes on Performance” and “Complications: A Surgeon’s Notes on an Imperfect Science.”
