A Blast of Hope – a glioblastoma benefit concert – February 4
A Blast of Hope, a special event concert to celebrate the life and legacy of Ingrid Watermann, who lost her battle with glioblastoma on January 6, 2024. Ingrid was a beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and community member who touched many lives with her kindness, generosity, and passion for music.
On February 4 at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre (Mohawk College) for an evening of music and inspiration, featuring a performance by the acclaimed jazz and boogie woogie pianist Michael Kaeshammer. Michael is a Canadian musician who has performed on various stages in Europe and North America for decades. He will delight us with his virtuosic piano skills and charismatic vocals.
All proceeds from this concert will go towards supporting glioblastoma research. Glioblastoma is the most common and aggressive type of brain cancer, with an average survival of 12-18 months after diagnosis. There is an urgent need for new and effective treatments for this devastating disease.
Your ticket purchase will help fund two important initiatives: glioblastoma research of Dr. Sheila Singh, and the Cindy Lee Graham Memorial Award, a scholarship for students pursuing careers in neuroscience and oncology in honor of another glioblastoma warrior who passed away in 2020.
We hope you will join us for this memorable and meaningful event, and help us make a difference in the fight against glioblastoma. Together, we can create a blast of hope for the future.
