What We Do

As a new venture at McMaster University, the CDCR sets itself apart from other cancer research centres because of its collaborative nature.

By bringing together like-minded researchers, clinician scientists, academics and colleagues at other ground-breaking cancer institutes, we are able to be on the cutting edge of cancer discovery and research locally and internationally.

our researchers

The CDCR features researchers who are renowned both nationally and internationally.

Our core team represents the academic departments of biology, medicine, surgery, and oncology, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the joint efforts of diagnosing, treating and managing cancer.

Range of Research

The Centre for Discovery in Cancer Research features expertise spanning from basic research in the laboratory to clinical trials in health-care settings. Our research addresses questions in the lab, clinic and community to provide a holistic research program of global impact.

The Centre builds on existing pillars of excellence unique to McMaster University, including immuno oncology; radiochemistry and molecular imaging; and population health and population genomics, clinical epidemiology, evidence-based medicine, and clinical trials.
