Pirates of the Cure-abbean: Daniel Lab Triumphs at BRIGHT Run 2024
On Saturday, September 7, members of CDCR PI Professor Juliet Daniel’s Lab participated in BRIGHT Run, which raises money for breast cancer research in the Hamilton area. The Daniel Lab members took part in the friendly 5km walk/run at Christie Lake Conservation Area.
Adorned in pink and pirate attire, and calling themselves the “Pirates of the Cure-abbean,” the Daniel Lab set a fundraising goal of $15,000. They surpassed this goal, raising over $17,000 and counting! The Pirates were the third highest fundraising team this year.
This year, the BRIGHT Run raised over $460,000, surpassing their goal of $417,000. Since its 2008 inception, the run has raised $5.5 million and funded 17 local research projects, some in our CDCR labs.
Congratulations to all and raising money for great cause!
